I completed a Bachelor of Communications (Media) at the University of Canberra in 1998, as part of the degree I also did a double major in computing. Having completed that degree I then re-entered the public service working in Property Management. While I have continued to work in web design I feel that it is time to get more experience in the area of web design.
As part of this process, I have devised a plan whereby I regain the experience in web design and small project management, and the client gets value for money. So my offer is this, I will design a website to the best of my abilities for free. Sounds too good to be true, its not. Basically the way the offer works, is that I design you a website. I will also do updates for free for say a period of 12 months, after that time we can negotiate a rate, say per page for updates after that time. Obviously if you are happy with my efforts and feel like giving a fee that's fine and I won't argue but you are under no pressure to do so. The only caveat that may apply is that obviously you may have to wait a few days for updates (obviously unless they are urgent in which case a speedy turnaround will be forthcoming).
Now as you can see this is primarily about building, repairing or modifying Mini's. But obviously to develop this site I have had to draw on my webdesign skills. And while primarily designed to deal with the subject of engine modification I also developed it to showcase a few of my skills. As stated earlier I am actually a tertiary qualified web designer but ended up taking a job that has little or nothing to do with web design. But while developing this site and a few others I have decided that maybe I should get my skills back in order.
My only requirement is that if you are happy with my design that you supply me with some sort of reference and that I can use your site as a reference/demonstration site later on. I can also organise hosting should you so require (obviously I won't be paying for hosting!).
So there you go you can't get fairer or cheaper than that.
Please contact me via email, with your requirements, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks
Matt
Also just a note on design. While some of these sites may not be that flash, this is not necessarily a shortcoming in my design capabilities. I am firm believer in designing sites as the customer requested. If the customer goes away happy that is good enough for me. It can be sometimes frustrating as there are some conservative tastes out there but as they say "The customer is always right". Also I have received many compliments on the layout of this site. Allot of these comments relate to the simplicity of the design. I think this is an important point, many sites I look at have very detailed interfaces with lots of bells and whistles but from the user's point of view provide very little additional benefit.
I am also in the process of repurchasing the Macromedia suite including Flash which I will be brushing up on soon, so hopefully you should see some examples on this site and the others as well.
